The January 2019 sales information is in and residential property sales recorded through the Barrie and District Association of REALTORS region showed an increase in the number of properties sold.
While the average price of units sold continued to decline in the residential market, there was however, a large increase in the number and the average price of apartment units sold.
231 units were sold in Simcoe County in January, and this is 17.3% greater than the month prior (December 2018). This is greater than the month-to-month growth the year prior (January 2018 vs December 2017), where the number of units sold declined by approximately 6.9%. Average price of residential properties in Simcoe County this month was $485,328. This is 0.8% greater than the average price during December 2018.
City of Barrie Within the City of Barrie, 103 units were sold during the month of January 2019. This is consistent with the month prior. In comparison, the month-to-month change a year prior was -14.4%.
The average price of homes within the City of Barrie last month was $452,518. This is 2.5% less than the average price of homes the month prior. And this contrasts the month-to-month change a year prior, where average price grew 9.1%.
