Barrie Fall Market Update

If the current Real Estate market could be summed up in one sentence this would be it...condominium market is on FIRE and the housing market… well…it continues to cool.

 

In comparison to this time last year, we are still seeing prices for all types of housing increase but it is happening at a much slower pace and the number of sales are way down since September 2016.

 

Within the City of Barrie, detached residential properties posted an average selling price for the month of September 2017of $515,522 an increase of 8% over September 2016. However, the number of residential units sold in September 2017 dropped 43% compared to this time last year.

 

Residential townhouse, link, and semi-detached homes in the City of Barrie posted an average selling price of $385,228 in September 2017, a 12% increase over September 2016. There was a 52% decrease in number of units in September 2017 from the same time in 2016. 

 

Condominium sales average for the City of Barrie for the month of September 2017 was $346,481, a 30% increase compared to September 2016. The number of units sold was up 29% from the same time last year.
